Our Current Newsletter - June 2009
In this issue:
Hello again, and thanks for reading.
Well another month has gone by. It seems as soon as I am done with a newsletter, the next one is due. It’s a lot of work but we have gotten a couple of really nice comments lately and that helps a lot. We are a year old this month. The first Newsletter we sent out in this format was last June. We didn't get one out every single month but we keep plugging along...
The good news is there is finally a new video up on the website. It’s called "The Three Temptations in the Wilderness" and it’s a clip from one of my talks at Massage Works Healing Center. (Thank you again Charmaine and Marie!) Tony was in town for a Trump Network meeting and got to come, so I put him to work on the camcorder. It's about just what you are guessing, The Temptations of Christ in the New Testament. It’s about 10 minutes long and will give you an idea about how deep the symbolism of that story goes.
BTW if any of you in the Denver area have any suggestions I am looking for a bigger room to teach in. We have had great response to our events, so I thank all of you for coming as well.
I’m trying to get a clip together for the website so that you can sample the audio book for The Christ Epoch, but it takes me forever to get anything to my webmaster and then he’s on vacation more than he works… nudge nudge Dave... :-P
I just recorded a Tibetan Singing Bowles Meditation with Alicia Lochary. It went really well. She came over early in the morning last Sunday which was the day of the Gemini full moon, is also World Invocation Day, and the culmination of the Higher Interlude I talked about last Month. It is the Festival of the Christ. We did an integration meditation and then went out into the studio. It sounds really good even in its rough untouched form. When I get a chance to work on it we will have something really nice you can download and use for meditation or simply setting a relaxing tone in your home. She has a huge collection of these incredible bowls and the sounds are just amazing. You can contact Alicia at alochary@msn.com
'Till next we meet
Love
Doug

Death in the
Dessert...
"Three souls which make up one soul; first, to wit,
A soul of each and all the bodily parts,
Seated therein, which works, and is what Does,
And has the use of earth, and ends the man
Downward: but, tending upward for advice,
Grows into, and again is grown into
By the next soul, which, seated in the brain,
Useth the first with its collected use,
And feeleth, thinketh, willeth, -- is what Knows
Which, duly tending upward in its turn,
Grows into, and again is grown into
By the last soul, that uses both the first,
Subsisting whether they assist or no,
And, constituting man's self, is what Is -
And leans upon the former, makes it play,
As that played off the first, and, tending up,
Holds, is upheld by, God, and ends the man
Upward in that dread point of intercourse,
Nor needs a place, for it returns to Him.
What Does, what Knows, what Is; three souls, one man."

The Numbers Game Part I
An excerpt from “One Solitary Life Book II - From the Unknown to the Known?
"In the beginning God geometrized."
With this succinct, powerful and insightful statement, the great mathematician and metaphysician, Pythagoras, reduced the creative process to the science of numbers and geometry. He also said, "Every thing is a number." Pythagoras believed that numbers were the key to understanding the Cosmos. His premise was that the language of nature is mathematics. "They", (referring to the Pythagoreans) “supposed the whole heaven to be a harmonia and a number", said Aristotle. In the words of Balzac, "The smallest as the most immense creations, are they not to be distinguished from each other by their quantities, their qualities, their dimensions, their forces and attributes, all begotten by the Number?" What it all boils down to is that, in the phenomenal universe, all can be reduced to the science of numbers.
Couple this with the Hermetic philosophy, articulated by Hermes Trismegistus, "As it is above, so it is below," and we have two of the metaphysical cornerstones of the spiritual foundation upon which rests the entire creative process. Man is essentially an analogist; he studies relations in all objects. Hermes applied this tendency to analogize to the extreme and asserted that analogous conditions traverse planes of reality; ergo, as above, so below, or if you prefer, "on Earth at it is in Heaven". Pythagoras assigned these relationships numeric and geometric values. He called attention to that which has become known in New Age parlance, as "Sacred Geometry". Thus we have two critical concepts: the universal application of natural law across planes of reality, and the numeric and geometric identification of same.

TheSoul Infused Life
Soul is a universal principal and an aspect of the divine trinity. It has a much broader meaning than just the consciousness aspect in man. It is synonymous with Consciousness and represents the second aspect of the divine trinity, Love/Wisdom. We see this aspect, therefore in expression on every possible level of manifestation for it represents itself through the synthesizing of spirit and matter. The soul is love.
It is literally the binding agent of the universe. Every form from the grossest mineral matter on the dense physical plane up through the highest manifestation displays an aspect of this principal, as it must. As above, so below, states the Hermetic aphorism. It binds the sub atomic particles that make the atom and binds the atoms together to form a molecule. It is the support system keeping all life forms in the plant and animal kingdoms coherent and growing. Without this cohesive energy and support the life form goes through the death process of restitution and elimination, returning the matter and energy of which it was made back to the reservoirs from which they were drawn.
In the higher life forms of the animal kingdom it is expressed as the anima mundi and is passed from life to life through the reproductive process, carrying with it the developed characteristics of the species and extending the refining process through many lifetimes producing ever more complex and diverse manifestations of the one life. Life evolves through generation after generation to higher and more accurate expression of its divine origin.

Yo Recovery
It has been a long 6 weeks. Nurturing a broken foot is, as I have found out recently no small thing. I have new respect for the little toe! Because of the nature of my injury, it was extremely difficult to do the Sun Salutations that I have learned to love so much. Yesterday I got in 5 sets, which is half of what I prefer to do. I completed 3 walks, which was 9 miles in 4days and rode my bike 26 miles over the weekend. So, I feel I am well on my way to recovery.
At this stage it isn’t unusual for me to push too hard and set myself back. Not this time. I have slowed down my pace when doing the Sun Salutation, concentrated on deep breathing, and breathing my way thru the postures with purposefulness that I don’t normally incorporate so intensely. And paying attention to the injured area I focused on healing. Pushing to the limit my stretching without pushing past my comfort zone, that is the art of healing ones self. It is a fine line and all you have to do is listen closely to what your body is experiencing.

Let your loneliness spur journey to self-knowledge

Q. How can I live alone and not be lonely? -- B. M., Boca Raton
A. I live with my husband, two teenagers, two dogs and three cats, and sometimes I feel lonely. I don't believe your feelings are related solely to living alone. When we let the business of the world fall away, we all meet that deeper place inside that tends to feel alone.
As you reflect on the choices you have made and the roles you have played, you may find this is a turning point for your authentic self to emerge. Living authentically requires an excavation of your beliefs, values and your passions. It becomes an opportunity to ask for what you want and need from others and to create healthy relationships with family and friends.
Are you willing to journey into the realm of self-knowledge? Explore classes on personal growth, spirituality and wellness. Seek out a group of people who will stimulate you and open new doors of perception. Venture into the unknown with God as your partner.
Many have gone before us, paving the way to find purpose and meaning in our lives. "This is what you shall do," Walt Whitman said: ""Re-examine all you have been told at school, church or in any book, dismiss what insults your very soul, and your flesh shall become a great poem."
