Yo 7 Day Physical and Mental Purge
First of all I feel the need to make some kind of a "disclaimer" here and now... this "regime" is only meant for peeps that are healthy. If you are under the care of a doctor of medicine or of psychology you need to double check with them as to whether you can undergo such a fast. It is important to note that I am not a doctor and I am only sharing with you what has worked for me. Many of my personal hours are spent in the study of the body, both seen and unseen and through personal experience, I have learned much. My solitary practice began in 1992 with the study of "aromatherapy & herbal remedies" and I have been practicing ever since.
In 1985, I met Mr. Swede Hanson, and began my experience in the field of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Treatment. Although I have not renewed my license, still counsel addicts in an informal setting, without interference from the State or any clinical setting.
During the course of the next 7 days you will be undergoing a certain amount of "with-draw" and the symptoms that accompany it. These will range in their intensity, duration & origin. That is why being both mentally and physically healthy or having SUPPORT in these areas is important/imperative. You may experience headache, nausea, dizziness, changes in blood pressure and mood. I want to emphasize the mood changes. They can swing wildly, last momentarily or, you may suffer and languish for hours. Your family or those around you ought to be in support of your efforts on these occasions.
When the toxins and poisons leave our body, they do it on many levels. Some disturbing thoughts and emotions can and do accompany them on their way out. Emotional support is beneficial and writing out these experiences will be part of the process. You will end up having “purged” yourself of more than you can imagine now.
So, let’s take a moment and create a mental/emotional/physical image of what we want to accomplish in the next 7 days? Naturally we want to “jump-start” our physical Self by cleansing our blood, digestive system. We want re-set our bodies to a new beginning. A better way of caring for our Selves and a healthier way to feed our bodies can begin anew. Know that this change will lead to more vitality in your Life. You will have access to the kind of Energy that is Pure in its nature and limitless. Gandhi said something like, “live as if you will live forever”. Can you imagine the amount of energy that would take? Well that’s where we all want to be, isn’t it? Imagine your Self waking up feeling energized and ready to go, from this day forward. It is by that desire that motivates us to caring for ourselves and making the necessary changes.
We will turn our attention to the over-all picture, a basic idea of what we face. The good news is that the actual fasting is only 72 hours! And that the 2 days before and after are spent in “transition”. The first segment will be far easier than the latter!
Starting on days one and two, you will want to “wean off” salt, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, fats, pastas, breads…..all your basic poisons? And prepare for an adult “time-out”, not because you’ve been bad (I know some of you more than others?), but because it is Wise to say, “stop” every now and then! Take a moment to rest, work on the inner-space, to strengthen and energize your Self for the path ahead. Some of us know this instinctually, others have come to the place of understanding through observation and Life experience.
So, our bodies want to rest as well. You will be doing both cleansing the body and purging the emotional Being. They go hand-in-hand, so there is no resisting the psychological/emotional cleansing and purging? Chemicals and toxins trapped in the body bring unwanted feeling and thoughts to the surface, we want to be prepared for this and take advantage of our opportunity to “dump”, lose some unwanted “baggage”, so to speak? I helped a woman lose 65lbs, she did the work and I cheered her on. One day I looked at her and said, “you know, 65lbs is the size of a small child”. She began to cry. This to me, is proof of the connection between excess weight and emotion. All these levels of energy will be brought to the surface and purged through what we take in and what we excrete. Excretion here includes sweating. Be prepared to sweat, whether through exercise, hot baths or shower….plan on lots!!
During days one and two you will be gathering your supplies. (see attachments later). These will include a writing tablet that well later be burnt. Is a necessary step in the “realization process”. We do not want old, negatives to follow us around for long? Our sub-conscious can be dumped on to a piece of paper far easier, faster, and cheaper, than many “years on a couch”! I am a huge proponent of Self help, with support, if you couldn’t tell already?
During the three days of fasting you will take in nutrition every two hours. In between you can drink almost anything that you can see through?! As long as it has no hidden poisons in it. Want you all to take a moment to do some imagery? Take an apple, for example? Go backwards in time to the bag you brought it home in to the tree it was harvested from. It still looks the apple that was picked off the tree? That is food, that is, what is, nutritious. Nutrition is had from LIVE cells something we are not taught in school, at home, or anywhere in our communities??
We will take in these live cells in by the “course of least resistance”, juice. If you have a blender, go to town. If not, do your best to get as close to the recommended drink….do not fixate on that, because what you were doing before was worse, no doubt? This IS important. The order of the juices CANNOT be changed. They are set up to stimulate or sedate the system methodically, in co-ordination with the circadian rhythms of the day. (please, if you do not know about this rhythm, go google it. Every one with a body needs to know this?) It is not a good idea to skip or miss the timing either. Hopefully after the fast you continue on taking in nutrition in the same way!
The last 48hrs are a time of “re-introduction. And it is almost as important as everything you will have done up to now?! You are going to be “super-charged”. Just the sense of accomplishment, added to the feelings of power and Mastery over the body and emotion, is enough to send your energy levels through the roof! However, come down we must. And if it takes you a few extra days and you can manage, take the time….all is the process and we are the sum of that process. The change in the “patterns of our daily” lives is what brings about rejuvenation of Vitality and natural Energy!!
The Drinks
7 am Wake-Up drink (see below)
8am orange juice
10am apple juice
12 pm carrot juice
2 pm sauerkraut juice
4 pm v-8
6 pm vegetable broth (or any other warm liquid you can see through?)
8 pm apple
10 pm tea
The Wake-Up Drink is: 2T lemon juice (fresh), 1T maple syrup, 1/4t cayenne pepper, in 8 oz. of “hot” water. (hot to melt ingredients, not burn tongue!?)
All the other drinks can be made at home or store bought and are considered, at least, 8-10 ounces.
In between you can have all the water, infused water, clear teas (no caffeine, not decaf!) and juice you want!
On the FIRST day you can substitute 2 apples for one juice, drink the apple juice, at 10 am & 8pm. This is only to assist you through the FIRST day, k?
When you buy the juices at the store check that it is not from concentrate and no sugars or additives. I like “odwalla” brand, or “naked” juice.
You stand a better chance of finding the sauerkraut without salt at the health food store. You will drain all, and at least 10 oz. of juice. You may need to buy 2 jars for each cleansing.
Within a short time after drinking the sauerkraut juice it will start bubbling through your system. I could follow mine ALL the way and I knew exactly when I would “evacuate”. Some may or may not share this experience, it took 2hours. I once handed a shake to a friend and he was in the restroom with in 20min. we were planning a bike ride???
His system was only used to eating from a box…..everyone is different, so whatever day you take as the first, be prepared to nurture your Self from 2pm for the next 72hrs. This will include some more planning on your behalf.
You will need a LIST! “100 Other Things I Could Be Doing” list. Yeah, that’s right. When you’re into your fast lots of feelings and emotion will surface and I want you to write them all down. And to be as detailed as you painfully can….honestly looking at what is coming up for you emotionally, mentally as well as physically. You will have to apply your Self to this part of the purge as if it is more important than the rest?
Whatever “demons” you face, whatever toxins are irritating your system, you want to take full advantage of this opportunity to rid you Self of them. At the top of the list ought to be writing. Include all your goals related to the fast, such as cleaning your refrigerator? Wiping down walls where animal fats have accumulated and smell? Exercises you like and that get the blood pressure up for at least 25 min. Remember, however, this may bring on emotional sensations of Joy, anger, depression, ecstasy?? No telling what could come up for you, just write it all down. If you feel like crying, cry. If you feeling jumping up and down and yelling, do it, run jump and play and be prepared ahead of time! Be spontaneous, have an adventure, get healthier……
I do like to maintain my supplements during fast and then add what is needed. I will attach a list of what I consider acceptable for this fast. One of the things we will accomplish is giving the entire digestive process a rest and I want everything you take into be “absorptive”. Also, will list herbal remedies for some symptoms, although like all withdraw the side effects can be painful.
