My name is Doug Fisichella and I would like to introduce you to the most brilliant man I have ever known, my father Anthony J. Fisichella.
The Well of Wisdom is a recording of a ten week class he taught throughout the course of his lifetime. It was totally designed by him as a way to systematically teach the Ancient Wisdom to the Western mind. These CD’s were reproduced from the reel masters of a cassette collection he made in the 1970’s
This class started with 13 students, many of whom would remain the core of “The Students of Esoteric Thought”, a group established in his flooring shop turned bookstore in the early ‘70s. It quickly grew to crowds of 300 in lecture halls at colleges and is the work that grew into the body of his first book Metaphysics, the Science of Life. The book was translated into several languages and distributed world wide. The group helped establish and moved into the New Age Center and thrived there until my family moved to Florida. There is more about this below.
So what is The Well of Wisdom about?
Well, it is kind of about everything… From the various kingdoms of nature and the types of consciousness they represent, to man and his place in the universe. The material covered is arranged into 9 topics which were given in approximately 90 minute weekly talks. The class on Reincarnation and Karma actually took two weeks, so the course had a duration of ten weeks.
The students interact and ask questions and it gives a very personal feeling to something that happened so long ago. The last talk shows how these ancient teachings are represented in the metaphors of the New Testament and that the bible is actually about the evolution of the human consciousness, or the path of enlightenment.

Just reading that again and I am blown away by how much is contained in this course and how lucky we are that these recordings exist at all. They were recovered a couple of years before he died by a close friend of his Jules Lynn. He took these ragged reel to reel tapes and copied them on to discs. I took what Jules started and re-mastered them in my studio The Padded Room. I still can’t believe how well they turned out considering they were recorded in 1974.
H. P. Blavatsky, world renowned author Secret Doctrine, said “there is no religion greater than truth”. The ancient wisdom embodies the root principles of the world religions and does not directly subscribe to any one specific religion and therefore embodies Truth, for it is unrestrained by crystallized dogma..
Life is but a lesson and we are all learning. We all become aware of life’s mysteries and inner levels at different rates. Sometimes we learn the easy way and sometimes we make it very hard. There are times we must suffer the pain of growth. Does not the child have to touch a hot pipe to know that it doesn’t feel good? Does not the infant have to fall many times before he learns to walk, and then run?

Meet Long Island's "Meat and Potatoes Guru"

Tony, as he liked to be called, was dubbed the Meat & Potatoes Guru by Mike Unger, a columnist for Long Islands Newsday because of the way he delivered this often complicating and confusing information in an understanding and straightforward manner.
Anthony Fisichella began his study of metaphysics and. specifically the Ageless Wisdom, (the common principles contained at the core of all religions) over forty years ago while living on Long Island, NY. He began to share his knowledge at an Adult Ed class at Hicksville High School, and then his student body grew to include and Farmingdale University and C.W. Post College. His classes at the Hicksville Library grew from the original 13 students to over 300 every month. The rest is history. He organized The Students of Esoteric Thought, and opened The New Age Center and a metaphysical bookstore.
The New Age Center became an umbrella that embraced many schools of thought, Dream Workshops, Personal Growth Workshops, Course of Miracles, Transcendental Meditation, Jose Silva Mind Control, Rosicrucian teachings, Theosophists, and Association for Research and Enlightenment, and much more. Tony, as he preferred to be called, believed that no one route is the only true route, and sought to fill the needs of the many.
“I try to teach a positive, creative and dynamic approach based on love and good will. We are a school of all forms of esoteric thought, not one specific movement.” Tony continued his sharing on a national level and eventually lectured on an international level.
From the seeds of his national and international tours grew the Annual International Metaphysics Festival held in Hempstead, Long Island. The festival featured sixty Eastern and Western spiritual leaders from around the globe, and attracted more than 3,000 attendees. Over the course of eight days over 200 lectures were offered.
It has been re-issued and renamed Echoes From Eternity (his original title) and was reprinted again in 2004 just prior to his passing.
In 2004 Tony created The Higher Ground Foundation. This is an on line site www.Higher-Ground.com whose mission it is “to investigate, develop and share an in-depth understanding of the principles and purpose of the cosmic creative process that gave birth to man and the universe; to promote an awareness of the “higher ground” that constitutes the ultimate destination of the journey unfolding for each and every soul.
