I have heard the term etheric body and etheric vision. What are they?

“The etheric, or vital body, as it is also called, extends beyond the periphery of the dense body as the etheric region extends beyond the dense part of the planet.” According to S.G.J. Ouseley, in his book, The Power of the Rays: The Science of Colour-Healing, ”The distance of this extension of the etheric body is about an inch and a half, and it is visible to clairvoyants as a luminous outline of a pale golden colour. The etheric body plays a very important part in our life, health and the development of occult powers."
More and more people are developing advanced perceptual skills that enable them to see the etheric body, also known as the body double. This gift of seeing is evolving for all humanity.
Tens of thousands of years ago, homo-sapiens were limited to seeing in black and white. Babies too, as they recapitulate our evolution in the womb; from breathing in the amniotic fluid to the early development of a tailbone, illustrate this maturation process. When babies are born, they too only see in black and white, a reminder of our evolutionary development.
Some individuals are called, “color-blind” and retain a recessive gene that inhibits their perceptual abilities. They are unable to discern the full spectrum of color and light.
Today we are on the forefront of expanding our human capacities – an evolutionary feat that marks the entrance into the next kingdom – the Kingdom of Souls . My teacher, Tony Fisichella, joyfully and exuberantly exclaimed that we are now birthing a new species.
As we shift from conditioned seeing --- the seeing that causes us to label, judge and separate in consciousness; seeing on the mere plane of form -- to the development of etheric vision, we initiate the capacity to see more truth. Truth that belies the previous structures of understanding – truth – that opens the doorways to a greater awareness of who we are – of the essential constitution of Man – that unifies us all as a Spark of the divine Fire, belonging to the monadic world.
